About

Hello!

I'm so glad you decided to pop on over for a visit!

I suppose you came to this page to find out a few things about me? Well, I am a born again Christian; a child of God. I believe that I am a wretched sinner in need of a Savior, and I believe that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect, sinless life among us and be crucified on a cross as the only ransom for our sin. I also believe that three days later, God raised His Son from the dead, swallowing up death in victory, and giving us an unspoken declaration that the sinless sacrifice was enough; our debts have been paid in full for those who believe on Him. I believe that every human being has the opportunity for salvation, no matter what age or stage of life you are at, no matter how good or sinful your past was. I believe that Christ is coming back to judge the living and the dead, to punish those who have refused to accept His free gift of salvation and instead embrace their lives of rebellion and sin, and to take those home to heaven to live with Him forever
who have accepted His gift and turned from their sin to live for Him.

Besides that, I am a daughter and sister to my wonderful parents and five superb siblings; I am also home-schooled and I love it. We live on a small farm with nineteen chickens (two are roosters), thirteen ducks, and two dogs.

Currently, my hobbies are drawing, writing, reading and playing the piano.  I also love being outside, watching birds, taking pictures, listening to music, singing, and holding sleeping babies :) (Who doesn't love holding a sleeping baby??)

If you are a reader, perhaps you would like to know what a few of my favorite books are?  Well, lets see. My current top three favorites would be these: Westward Ho! by Charles Kingsley, The Keeper of the Bees, by Gene Stratton-Porter, and Ben-Hur by Lew Wallace. Close second and thirds would be Michael O'Halloran, and The Girl of the Limberlost, both by Gene Stratton-Porter. Oh, but there are so many more! What are some of your favorite books?

If you are a writer, perhaps you would like to know what the books are about that I am writing. One book, is a historical fiction one set in the mid 1800s. The second one is a fantasy book. I got inspired to write one of these because of the fact that not much research would be necessary--if any at all :) The third book is based off of a hypothesis that my brother and I came up with--a very interesting one--and is based in a future setting. What do you like to write? Are you writing any books currently?

Are you an artist? Surprisingly, I've not met a ton of artists in the blogging world. Perhaps that's because blogging is more about, well, writing than...drawing... :P Well, if you do relate in this area, perhaps you would like to know what I like drawing. The answer is portraits, among many other things. I mostly draw with graphite pencil, though I have also used colored pencil, pen, acrylic paints, and watercolor paints. Oh, and occasionally pastels and chalk pastels.  What are some things that you like to draw?

I'm quite sure that blogging is not going to be the first thing on my list of things to do in life, so please do not expect me to blog all that frequently, but I'll try to be somewhat consistent.

I hope you enjoy your visit, and I hope you come back again!

Blessings,

Jewels <3
